Chicago newspapers have been donating much space to cover California’s Supreme Court ruling to allow same-sex marriages. This ruling was done in mid-May and the actual licenses began to be available in mid-June. I promise that this will not be a popular article, but popularity is not my goal in the slightest. These few lines are just a smattering of what I would like to write.
Not too long ago, I was driving down the road heading toward the building where we are holding services for our new church. I looked over to my right and on the sidewalk I saw one man kiss another man on the lips and then hand him a bouquet of flowers. I was utterly disgusted. Let me make my position, and the position of our new church very clear. Homosexuality is not an alternate life style. It is an abominable life style. Leviticus 18:22 states, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.” (King James Version) It is not a psychological “illness,” but rather a horrible and distasteful sin in the sight of a holy God. God’s Word teaches in Romans 1:26-27, “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.” Romans 1:26-27 (King James Version).
Problems with Homosexuality
Homosexuality gives children a false and distorted view of what a true home ought to be. Children need the very ones who conceived them: a father and a mother. They should be married to eachother. The 450,000 people who gathered for the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade will have no logical or intellectual argument against the following: Homosexuality is the root cause of many sexually transmitted diseases. Homosexuality is also contrary to the human biological make-up. If it was a thing meant to be, the homosexual “couple” should be able to reproduce children, but that isn’t the case because God never intended them to have relations. The human race would soon be extinct if all followed this Satanic perversion because there would be no more natural reproduction.
The argument for homosexuality is, “if it feels right and it is what you want to do, then by all means do it.” But what if we apply this same principle to illegal drugs? Addicts would argue that crack cocaine feels good. Should they be allowed to wreck their own lives and the lives of others in order to feel good? Doctors warn us all the time to curb our eating habits and dine sensibly. But eating certain foods feels good even though they are not good for you. How dare those doctors tell me not to do something that I want to do? We should go on a campaign to discredit doctors because they are warning against something that we really want to do. Absurd, isn’t it?
We sing the song “God Bless America,” but this will not be a reality unless America starts to bless God. This is done by honoring all parts of His Word - not just the parts we like or agree with. America was built upon the premise that right is right and wrong is wrong. Is our nation improving as more “come out of the closet?” We have lost the moral compass that leads us to absolute truth.
